Mesa, AZ — April 21, 2025 – SOLARCYCLE®, a technology-based solar panel recycling company, today shared annual impact data for 2024. The results demonstrate the company's continued leadership building the circular economy and its commitment to compliance and advanced impact reporting. In 2024, the company successfully:
This ambitious growth was made possible by several successful milestones throughout the year, including expansion at its landmark facility in Odessa, Texas. There, SOLARCYCLE added two next generation processing lines, doubling its panel recycling capacity at the facility and increasing the purity of its material outputs. The company also began construction on the first-of-its-kind Circular Solar Campus, a solar glass factory and co-located recycling facility in Cedartown, Georgia with capacity to process 10 million panels per year and manufacture 5-6 gigawatts (GW) of solar glass. In 2024, SOLARCYCLE also opened its state-of-the-art research and development center at its headquarters in Mesa, Arizona where it employs metallurgists, chemists, and engineers to advance solar panel recycling technology.
“Analysts predict that by 2050, the world will see as many as 3.3 billion retired solar panels needing end of life solutions. At the same time, domestic demand for clean power and critical materials is sky-high. The industry winners will be able to see how these two issues intersect,” said Suvi Sharma, CEO and Co-Founder at SOLARCYCLE. “Scalable, credible, and advanced solar panel recycling is key to our country’s energy and manufacturing goals. Our work is to make sure valuable materials from retired solar panels stay in the domestic supply chain and out of landfills. We’re proud of last year’s contributions to this mission and we look forward to another landmark year advancing the circular economy.”
SOLARCYCLE’s rapid growth comes as the industry increasingly looks to prioritize circularity and domestic energy manufacturing. Starting in 2025, the company expects a significant influx of decommissioned panels as power providers repower solar assets with more efficient technologies. SOLARCYCLE aims to recycle nearly 1 million solar panels by the end of 2025 and be positioned to process two times that amount in 2026.
The company is uniquely positioned to provide visibility for customers looking to ensure circularity due to its advanced panel tracking and reporting capabilities, which are grounded in peer-reviewed life cycle analysis techniques. Once recycling criteria are met, customers receive a certificate of recycling for every order placed, as well as annual and on-demand ESG reports outlining materials recycled and diverted from landfills, carbon emissions avoided, and other environmental and supply chain benefits. SOLARCYCLE follows the Environmental Protection Agency’s definition of recycling and maintains industry standard-setting compliance with all necessary regulatory agencies. SOLARCYCLE follows rigorous standards set out by the International Organization for Standardization and is certified to be compliant in Quality Assurance (ISO 9001), Environmental Management (ISO 14001) and Occupational Health and Safety (ISO 45001).
